A union helps employees with problems at work. They ensure that agreements about wages, working hours, and vacations are fair. They discuss this with the employer.
For example: you are paid too little or you work too many hours. Then the union talks to your employer. This way they ensure fair agreements.

Becoming a member
Becoming a member of a union is not mandatory. Do you want to become a member? Then you pay a membership fee.
In return, you receive help, information, and support when you need it.
