Living: What do I do with my waste?
RECYCLING. WHAT DO I DO WITH MY WASTE?
In Flanders, it is important to sort waste and you must adhere to the sorting rules. This way, we collectively ensure a clean and sustainable environment and avoid fines. Properly sorted waste can be recycled more easily.
Collection system: how does it work?
In Genk, waste is collected at home on fixed days. The waste calendar tells you when to put out which type of waste at the curb. To sort your waste correctly, you use special waste bags. You must purchase these yourself. There are a total of 5 types of bags, each with its own color.
